As might be evident from the settings of many of my novels, I’m originally from Maine. Born in Bangor, I grew up in a suburb of Portland and spent my formative years learning to ski in the western mountain region, camping in one of the many amazing state parks that dot the state or exploring the craggy coastline. I graduated from the amazing School of Business at the University of Southern Maine (go Huskies!) intending to become a Human Resources professional, but a chance internship with a local software developer jump started a career in Information Technology. Never expecting to become a Professional Nerd, I’ve nonetheless now spent more years than I’m comfortable admitting writing just about everything other than a novel in the process.
Despite my love for the rugged coastline and the unique lifestyle found only in the Northeast, I escaped the cold for Arizona just as the calendar turned to the new millennium. But as I neared my third decade in IT, I was informed it might not be bad idea to find a way to wind down from the stresses of my day job. While I had multiple options to select from, I recalled my childhood ambition to become a writer and wondered… was that something I could still do?
I decided to give it a try and quickly found myself weaving new worlds from the comfort of my old laptop. My current passion appears to be working through two interconnected mystery series (you can find out more on the Books page) featuring the unique characters of Sean Colbeth and Vasily Korsokovach – and their insanely complicated relationship.
When I’m not writing (or working at my day job), my wife and I cater to the ever-changing whims of our rescue Staffordshire Terrier who insists on being walked regularly.
