I’m currently working on three different mystery series. The first two feature my original characters, Sean Colbeth and Vasily Korsokovach, and are traditional police procedurals set in classic locations on both the sides of the country. My third series will debut in late 2025 and features a new character, Kathryn Oliver; it also flips the mystery genre just a teensy tiny bit.
Since Sean and Vas started off as partners, they do have a shared backstory — but it’s not necessary to have read one series without the other. I’ve left enough breadcrumbs in each that you should still find them a satisfying read as standalone novels, but if you do decide to read the whole shebang, you’ll gain some added context that flavors the entire master storyline.
Sean Colbeth Investigates
